Life Coaching and Mentoring
Life coaching is an opportunity for you to get clarity on the direction you want your life to be going, so that you can move towards your potential and optimise your quality of life. I can help you to build on existing strengths and develop effective approaches to your work, relationships, and wellbeing. I can help you to mobilise energy and take action to fulfil your goals.
Integrating Gestalt, my approach will be present focused which will help you become aware of the critical choice points for action that exist in the moment. Working in partnership, we will explore how you make sense of your world, the ways you are blocking moving forwards, and how to become more effective in the world. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which uses evidence based psychological interventions that are particularly helpful at shifting stuck patterns.
With 20 years experience of helping people create positive and meaningful changes, my work as a life coach or mentor is informed by different psychological approaches. I can use motivational interviewing to explore your values and give space to any resistance to change. I can also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you learn ways to overcome unhelpful thoughts. Active imagination, guided visualisations, or movement can be used to help you clarify and move towards your goals. My aim is to provide you with an individually tailored service best suited to meet your needs.
During the sessions we will develop focused, realistic, and workable action plans to help you achieve your goals. Sessions could also involve using creative exercises and learning new strategies or techniques to enable you to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and thrive on challenges.
