I'm passionate about helping individuals and couples feel happier, healthier, and more resilient. I bring over 20 years experience of working in health and wellbeing services using therapeutic approaches to help with a wide range of issues. I've supported many individuals move through crisis points, navigate life changes, and re-establish healthier relationships. I've also helped others to create more meaningful lives through optimising their potential and reconnecting to their purpose and passion.
I hold a post graduate diploma in Gestalt Therapy and a post graduate diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I have completed a post graduate diploma in Contemporary Trauma Practice and have specialist skills in working with unresolved trauma. I am a trained couples counsellor with additional training in working with sexuality and intimacy issues. Over the years I have undertaken a wide range of trainings which include: mindfulness, building resilience, stress management, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassionate Focussed Therapy, and working with addictions.
I'm an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow an ethical framework for good practice. I've worked for many years in the NHS as a mental health Occupational Therapist and remain registered with the Health Professionals Council (HCPC). My mental health background means I have expertise in working with depression, anxiety, stress (especially work related), and addictions.
I've also worked in Higher Education developing an innovative Wellbeing Service to address the mental health needs of students. This included group work, staff training, and creating a suicide prevention strategy. Over the years I have delivered training, supervision, and mental health consultancy to a variety of organisations including the NHS, further education, and in the private sector.
I currently work in private practice in Cheltenham and Avening and am a member of ComPsych, one of the largest Employee Assisted Programmes (EAP) globally. I'm registered with BUPA ,WPA, and AVIVA as a provider of counselling and psychotherapy (for those who have insurance with these organisations). Alongside my private practice, I deliver trainings on wellbeing, ecopsychology, and building resilience.
I receive regular professional supervision and I am dedicated to continuing professional and personal development. I'm committed to integrating sustainable values and practices into my business as well as my personal life. I bring a professional, creative and open approach to my work.
