I'm passionate about helping individuals and couples feel happier, healthier, and more resilient. I bring 25 years experience of working in health and wellbeing services using therapeutic approaches to help people with a wide range of issues. I've supported many individuals move through crisis points, navigate life changes, and re-establish healthier relationships. I've also helped people to create more meaningful lives through optimising their potential and reconnecting to their purpose and passion.
I hold a post graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy and a post graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I have completed a post graduate Diploma in Contemporary Trauma Practice and have specialist skills and experience in working with unresolved trauma.
I am a trained couples therapist (Diploma in Relational Couples Therapy) and have completed additional training in working specifically with issues around sex and intimacy. I work with individuals and couples of all sexual orientations.
Over the years I have undertaken a wide range of trainings some of which include: mindfulness, building resilience, stress management, cognitive behavioural therapy, understanding with self harm, compassionate focussed therapy, and working with addictions.
I'm an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow an ethical framework for good practice. I've worked for many years in the NHS as a psychiatric Occupational Therapist Bsc (hons) and remain registered with the Health Professionals Council (HCPC). My mental health background means I have expertise in working with depression, anxiety, stress (especially work related), and addictions.
I've also worked in Higher Education developing a Wellbeing Service to address the mental health needs of students. I provided therapeutic interventions, group work, and staff training. I've delivered training, supervision, and consultancy to a variety of organisations (business, charity, and public sector).
I currently have a busy private practice in Cheltenham and online, and I'm a member of ComPsych, one of the largest Employee Assisted Programmes (EAP) globally. I'm also registered with BUPA ,WPA, and AVIVA as a provider of counselling and psychotherapy (for those with insurance). Alongside my private practice, I work as a freelance trainer and consultant.
I receive regular supervision and am dedicated to continuing professional and personal development. I'm committed to integrating sustainable values and practices into my business as well as my personal life. I bring a professional, creative, and dynamic approach to my work.
